For more than a decade, Pioneering Technology has been an “energy smart” technology company and North America’s leader in innovative cooking fire prevention technologies and products. Our mission is simple: To help save lives and property from the leading cause of household fire – cooking fires. We do this by engineering and providing solutions that make consumer appliances safer, smarter and more efficient. Our patented cooking fire prevention products address the multi-billion dollar problem of cooking fires.

Mr. Bergsma is a corporate director and business strategy consultant. Previous board appointments included the Ontario Clean Water Agency, Horizon Utilities Corp., St. Catharines Hydro Inc., CFM Corp., various natural gas utilities, pipeline companies and industry associations, including the Executive Committee of the Board of the International Gas Union. Mr. Bergsma has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Union Gas Ltd. and President of Lennox Canada Inc., Massey Ferguson Research Ltd. and Columbus McKinnon Ltd., and as Commissioner of Corporate Services for Niagara Region.

Mr. Callahan is President and Chief Executive Officer of Pioneering Technology Corp. and its subsidiaries. Mr. Callahan is a partner in Upstream Capital Inc., a private investment company and President of The Upstream Group Inc., a private company that works with emerging business ventures. Prior to forming The Upstream Group, Mr. Callahan worked with EcomPark Inc., a public venture investment firm, as an advisor and as President of one of their investee companies from March 2000 to March 2001. EcomPark was sold in 2001. From November 1994 to March 2000, Mr. Callahan worked in consumer products marketing with BBDO Canada, a division of BBDO Worldwide as Vice-President, Group Director.


Ms. Appy has served as President of Appy & Associates since January 2012. Ms. Appy is an internationally-recognized leader in fire and life safety education with a proven track record in leading organizations and teams to execute high-impact injury prevention initiatives. Previously, Ms. Appy served as President of Safe Kids USA at the Children’s National Medical Center, she served as President of the Home Safety Council in Washington, D.C. from March 2003 to December 2010 and prior to that led the educational efforts for the National Fire Protection Association.


Mr. Adair is a practiced financial professional with a career spanning more than 25 years. During this time, Mr. Adair has acted as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of a series of small to medium-sized private and public technology companies. From 2001 to 2005, he acted as Chief Financial Officer of Systech Retail Systems Corp. (TSX:SYS), a U.S.-based retail technology company. From 2006 to 2015, Mr. Adair held a series of roles in Symbility Solutions Inc. (TSX-V:SY), including President and Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer of Symbility Health Inc. Mr. Adair is currently Chief Executive Officer of Pluribus Technologies Inc., a company that specializes in acquiring and growing small, profitable B2B software companies using its international network of technology partners.
Past owner and operator of National Importers Inc., a privately held company that buys, distributes and manages retail products throughout North America; specializing in marketing/distribution solutions and expert brand, trade and logistics management. Mr. Dueck is also a principal of McAllister Holdings Ltd., a private investment firm focusing on investing in and developing early stage companies.


Mr. Harricks has a B.A. from Trinity College, University of Toronto (1975) and an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School (1978). He was called to the Bar of the Province of Ontario in 1980. From 1980 to 2019 Mr. Harricks practiced law at the Gowling WLG firm, or its predecessors, primarily in the areas of corporate finance and mergers & acquisitions. From 2010 to 2019 he was head of the firm’s Energy Sector Group. Since September 2019 he has been Executive Vice-President and Chief Legal Officer at Hydro One, which is Ontario’s largest electricity transmitter and distributor and is listed on the TSX.
Mr. Kraft is the Chairman of Buckingham Group Limited, a privately-owned merchant bank that has played a significant role in the capital formulation strategy and financing as a principal of various emerging and growth enterprises. Mr. Kraft is also President of MPK Inc., a management services and consulting business providing strategic planning, business development, corporate development and capital raising services. Mr. Kraft is a Co-Founder, Chairman and Director of WeedMD Inc. (WMD:TSX-V), Chairman and Director of Lingo Media Corporation (LM:TSX-V), and a Director of Blockstrain Technology Corp. (DNAX:TSX-V), JM Capital II Corp. (JCI.H:TSX-V) Majesta Minerals Inc. and several private companies.

Mr. Mulroney is a global sales leader who has demonstrated the ability to drive significant and sustainable business results for shareholders, customers and employees. Mr. Mulroney has extensive leadership experience as a Global Sales Vice President, Regional Sales Vice President and has held senior management positions in Marketing, Manufacturing, Logistics and Government Regulatory Affairs roles with S.C. Johnson, a leading multi billion dollar consumer goods company. Most recently Mr. Mulroney was an investor/owner of Siamons International – a category leader in the specialty cleaning products category where he was responsible for strategic sales planning, P&L management, new product innovation, business and customer development as well as acquisitions & integrations.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Queen’s University, and is a graduate of the Marketing Management Program at Western University, Executive Business Strategy at Cornell University and Executive Finance Program at the Wharton School of Business.


Mr. Quast is a strategic, business-focused communications and marketing leader with more than 25 years of experience in the areas of strategic branding, marketing, communications, public relations and award-winning content generation. Michael was instrumental in creating one of North America’s most trusted and iconic brands in contractor Mike Holmes (“Holmes On Homes”). He is a passionate advocate for homeowner safety and education. He has extensive experience in the new homebuilding, renovation and home inspection industries. Michael currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity, Halton-Mississauga. Michael has a B.A. (Hons) from Queen’s University and a M.A. from the University of Manchester, UK.
